Last night, the 25th Anniversary of the Heartland Film Festival opened with the star-studded cast of the Book of Love walking the red carpet.

Jessica Biel plays Penny, the wife of Henry (played by Jason Sudeikis), an introverted architect. After Penny’s untimely death in a car accident, Henry sets out to help Millie, a homeless teen, to build a raft to sail across the Atlantic. This heartwarming and touching story is about loss, redemption, and living the life you are meant to live.

Jessica walked the red carpet with Richard Robichaux who plays Pascal, a day laborer who is helping Penny and Henry remodel their home; Jennifer Purple, co-founder of Iron Ocean Productions that produced The Book of Love; and Dean Devlin, chairman and CEO of Electric Entertainment who picked up the film for distribution.

Following the screening was a Q&A and the President of Heartland Film, Craig Prater, presented Jessica Biel with the Pioneering Spirit Award.

The film is set to release on January 13, 2017 in theaters across the country as well as on video on demand (VOD).

Today, Heartland will begin screening independent films at AMC Castleton Square 14 and AMC Showplace Traders Point 12 with filmmakers, cast, and crew in attendance. Later this evening, Heartland will celebrate its 25th Anniversary with a sold out celebration that includes a VIP reception, live entertainment, and more.
